As music becomes more mobile, more streaming, and more capable of being played anywhere, we find ourselves needing better external speakers. And we need more control of our playback, which is where the Sugr Cube comes in.
Sugry Goodness
The Sugr Cube is a pretty simple speaker in the basics. It’s built to have better sound in a small package, starting with the natural wood enclosure, and a bass vent to improve responses at the lower end of things. It’s a pretty straightforward little tool that streams music directly from your various services, complete with a lithium-ion battery you can easily recharge to keep the music running. But that, of course, is just the start.
The controls are the real selling point. You start the music just by tapping the top, and can skip songs forward and backward by tilting it one way or the other. That’ll even apply to using it as an alarm clock, as you can just flip to snooze, and sharing a song online, as you can just hold your palm down on the top to put it on Facebook. But if that’s a little too esoteric for you, you can just download the app and control the little guy that way.
Sugred Up
A little portable speaker is always handy. But the Sugr Cube seems particularly suited to the needs of those of us who needs a streaming music player. If you want a cube of your own, you’ll need to back the Kickstarter.
